Packaging Tip
You don't have to buy replacement blades for these carton sealing tape dispensers. I haven't been able to find these blades and they'd probably be too expensive anyway. I do a lot of packaging and this tip has saved me a lot of time and effort. You know how when these dispensers are new they cut the tape so easily there's almost no effort? Then before you've finished the first roll you have to start banging the thing with your hand to get it to cut. I take my box cutting knife with the retractable snap off blades and I just snap off two or three sections from the blade. They snap off at an angle and this gives me three pointed razors. I loosen the two screws that hold the tape dispenser cutting blade and slip the three points under the blade and retighten the screws. It cuts as easily as when it was new.
For safety be sure the dispenser has the retractable blade and make sure the added points are pushed far enough back to fully retract as in the second picture below. With the non retractable type it is simply too dangerous. Remember that the dispenser tends to swing towards your other hand which is usually holding the box. Don't take chances and always keep it away from children.
