After 5 years of making TV swivels I have finally gotten around to rewriting this page and making it a little more personal. I can report that the things I have learned in this business are invaluable. I will tell here about two of them.

First, there is opportunity for anyone to do business online if they are willing to start small and provide a needed service in a sincere and personal way. The products I began with looked almost the same as the items available at some large electronics stores and other large online retailers. Mine are better quality but I had no idea if anyone would be willing to purchase from a small unknown shop. Instead of trying to imitate a large professional web store I just made my own web pages in a simple way and focused on communicating a personal approach. I'm not satisfied that I did the best job I could on the website but I've been so busy making swivels that I have not had much time to go back and improve the pages. It seems that people do value dealing with a real person they can talk to rather than a big machine with hundreds or thousands of employees. With the thousands of these I have sent out I don't think I have ever had one unpleasant experience with a customer. I even sent out a lot of them before payment and never failed to get a payment. I have found people to be very friendly and have struck up acquaintances with people who share similar interests.

Update 3-24-11

My last version of this page included some information about how I had used some techniques to make general improvements in my life experiences and recommending certain self help authors to those who were interested. A few months ago I discovered an author whose teachings have made a much more profound difference than anything I had encountered before. Without this new understanding, what I was doing before was actually a dead end. I had been trying to improve my thinking and recondition my mind to think in new patterns.
